Beneficial Fallen Leaf Run

Beneficial Fallen Leaf Run

I participated in 2010 Fallen Leaf Run on October 2nd. I also participated in Bloomsday last semester, but each event has a different purpose. Bloomsday is a kind of race, so a person who is the fastest runner get the prize money. Fallen Leaf Run is fund-raising.

Most Extension students and Education students joined this event. We were lucky, because we had the opportunity to participate in a "fund" run! The Fallen Leaf Run is planned to raise money for SIDS research. SIDS stands for "Sudden Infant Death Syndrome". The infants who seem to be healthy die unexpectedly. It's very sad. I felt sorry about that and thought what an unreasonable thing!! However, this event is not negative, it's a very positive event. The organizers are very cheerful and there are free snacks and balloons. I could really enjoy not only the run but also them. Everyone hopes the same thing and that is to find a cure for SIDS soon. I also hope that strongly, so I'm really glad to participate in this event. I couldn't do anything directly, but I think I could help babies who have died from SIDS or their parents indirectly by participating.
