On September 28th, I went to Washington State University(WSU). The area of WSU is large, so I felt it is like a town. I met some students who are from other countries. My partner was a Japanese student and a Chinese student. They are also studying English like us. We talked about going abroad, dreams, daily life and so on. I sometimes didn’t understand what a Chinese student said to me, because it is hard to listen to his pronunciation. However, the Japanese man said to me, “His English is better than other Chinese students.” I know we also have English dialect, so I noticed that I should try to speak English like native speakers when I speak with native speakers, because I think they don’t understand my English. One of my memorable things is the words by Japanese students. He said, ‘Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. Be ACTIVE! And, do your best in order to learn English.’ I also heard these words from another Japanese native speaker, so it is a convincing speech. Time passed so fast. We don’t have any time that I can waste. It’s up to me to make an effort or not! This visit gave me a chance to reconsider my life at MFWI.
