Brown Buildings

Brown Buildings

I went on the trip to the Southwest on October 18-24th. I visited Santa Fe and Albuquerque and noticed many low, brownish buildings there. Almost all the buildings are low and brownish. I was surprised at them.

First of all, I visited Santa Fe and walked downtown. There were a lot of shops and old churches. I was impressed by Mission San Miguel. It is a old church and made of adobe. It was really different from a church in Spokane. I think this church tells us about old history of Santa Fe.

Second, I visited amazing Acoma Pueblo. The houses and church were the same color as the ground. The houses of adobe were impressive for me. There are some people who live there and save their culture. I think they live with nature. I noticed my life is very convenient and I may destroy nature. I should reconsider my life and limited nature.

Finally, the hotels in Santa Fe and Albuquerque were also low and brown buildings. Moreover, they don't have more than the 3rd floor. Recently, high buildings are common in a city. There are a lot of high buildings like shopping malls or hotels in Spokane. However, the buildings in Santa Fe are only the 1st or 2nd floor. I think it is easy to carry my heavy luggage, but I felt strange for them.

In conclusion, I felt people who live in Southwest relate to great nature. They are keeping their wonderful culture. The low and brown buildings show it.
