Tasting Something New in the Southwest
I went to the Southwest of America, and I was able to find something new and different from Spokane or other states.
First, I saw a lot of different scenery in South West. There were a lot of buildings that were kind of adobe. I had never seen that before, so I was interested in it. The University of New Mexico was also adobe, so it is very interesting for me. However, there are fewer buildings than Spokane, so I was able to see the sky clearly. It was absolutely fabulous!! There were also a lot of historical buildings, so I was able to see a lot of Japanese people. In Spokane, I rarely see Japanese people except Mukogawa students. The situation was also very interesting for me. I was able to taste something new that I have never seen or experienced.
Second, I felt the Southwest was drier than here. I thought Spokane was very dry, because Japan is really humid. However, South West was drier, so I was really surprised. I was always thirsty, and my skin was also dry. It was a little hard for me, but I think it is better than being too humid like Japan.
Third, I was also able to eat some special food there. For example, I ate Pueblo burger. It was very interesting! I saw a lot of chilis, but I can't eat something hot, so I didn't try them. I realized chili is famous in that area, because I saw a lot of chilis as decoration of the houses or stores. I was interested in it.
In conclusion, I was able to learn something new about South West, and it was really fantastic for me! I think it was great for me to learn and understand about their culture, and it was also very good thing for me to feel or taste the cultural differences.
The Grandeur of the Grand Canyon
I see the grandeur of the Grand Canyon,
Large scale of the ravine,
A clear air of nature,
Seeing them without chatting,
Blowing wind, the song of the birds, like stopping the times,
Tasting the boundless, beautiful scenery of the earth,
The Grand Canyon makes me change my mind.
