Marvelous Welcome Banquet

My second Welcome Banquet was unforgettable. I was looking forward to this day since I came back to Spokane again because I could meet many teachers and guests. Also, I had delicious and gorgeous food which was prepared by the Commons staffs. I especially have three things that I was impressed by during the ceremony.

First, I was very happy to see familiar people again. At the previous Banquet, I didn't know any teachers and RAs. This time, I knew them already, so I enjoyed talking with them more than before. Also, my English skill was better than before, so I could have a fun conversation with them. I seated with Mark and his wife. She was very kind and told me a lot of things about her. She showed me a picture of a big red sunflower which she grew. I had never seen such a remarkable sunflower, so I was very surprised at it. When I saw the teachers who taught me in the last semester like Lynaia, Kathy, and Cynthia, I felt very happy and they reminded me about the last session. I had great time with them in the last session, so I missed them a lot.

Second, I was really impressed by the teachers' and staffs' warm welcome. When I sang a song called Mamma Mia, I saw that many people were smiling at us. I felt like they encouraged our work of this four months. Thanks to their support, I can work hard and encourage myself. I also enjoyed singing it. We prepared and practiced it again and again, so I was very happy that our show was successful.

Finally, I was surprised by students' speeches. They all made really good speeches. They spoke exactly what I aim for in this semester. If I were the speech student, I couldn't make such a great speech. During this semester, I am focusing on improving my English skills and myself.
