I felt many things at the Welcome Banquet. First of all, I remembered the last one I attended. I noticed that it has already been seven months since then. How fast time passes! Last semester, I remember singing a popular song of Japan. I was also really excited to stay in the U.S. for three months. Everything was very fresh at that time. I had a wonderful time. However, now there is a different feeling. It is that I worry about beginning this three months as an Extension student. I don’t have confidence. I would like to overcome my worry.
Next, at this Welcome Banquet, I was impressed with the JC student’s speech. She gave us a very powerful speech. It seemed that she was full of hope and confidence. I was also surprised because she spoke without notes during her speech. If I were her, I could not give such a speech, as I don’t have confidence.
Third, I enjoyed watching the Education student’s performance. It was so perfect that I think they practiced very hard. Watching it, I remembered that I used to sing “Top of the World” when I was a junior high school student. The song reminded me of my past. It was one of my favorite songs.
Finally, I had a performance with the Extension students. We performed after the Education students. They had a great performance so all of the Extension students felt nervous. In fact, I was really nervous to play after their performance. Since we had practiced hard, it was successful! I was delighted about our success! While I was singing, I forgot my worry. After finishing our performance, the audience gave us a big hand. I was impressed.
This Welcome Banquet will be one of my wonderful memories at MFWI.
