I had a welcome banquet last Friday. I'm glad to come back here as an extension student! I could talk with many teachers, RA's and staff at the welcome banquet. In addition, my seat was next to my host family, so I could also talk with them. I talked with them about my summer vacation and so on. It was the second time for me to attend the welcome banquet, but I was nervous before I sang a song, because I didn't have confidence whether I could remember all the lyrics. I also didn't have confidence last semester, but at that time we didn't move to the front of the room when we sang a Japanese pop song. I heard that an extension student do well every year from teachers in Japan, so I was under pressure from that. When it was the Junior College and Education Student's turn, I was surprised. Their songs were also English songs!! The education students not only sang but also played some performances. Next, it was the extension students turn. My mind went blank as soon as I stood up in front of a large audience, but I could sing loudly and move! I felt the audience heated up and clapped their hands. We could do our best! I enjoyed a pleasant sense of identity at the welcome banquet more than last semester.
